BLOGFLASH - Glasgow Audition for Shankly

The producers of The Shankly Show will be in Glasgow tomorrow (Friday, 29 th February) as part of their search for an actor to play Bill Shankly.

They will be holding auditions at the Scottish Youth Theatre at The Old Sheriff Court, 105 Brunswick Street from 1000 until 1600 and, in their desire to leave no stone unturned, they are holding open auditions between 1500 and 1600 so that anyone can come and meet them.

They’ll be holding auditions in Liverpool on Saturday.

So we should be finding out soon who will be performing as the late Liverpool manager at the festival.

The producers of a play about the life of Bill Shankly are looking for people who could take on the role of the legendary football manager.

The play "The Shankly Show" has been especially commissioned for Liverpool's Capital of Culture programme. It will have its Scottish première as part of the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival in May.

Footballing Legends (the show's producers) are celebrating the life, work and words of the former Liverpool FC manager. This will feature a recreation of the man himself:

• Do you know someone who looks and sounds like Bill Shankly?
• Do you look and sound like Bill Shankly?
• Do you have a favourite actor you’d like to see play Bill Shankly?
• Are you an actor or someone who would just relish playing the part?

If the answer to any of the above is 'yes' then we'd like to hear from you.

In collaboration with ITV Granada, this unique large-scale theatre event will bring Shankly back to his audience with the classic sounds, images and archive footage of the golden age of 1960's and 1970's football.
