Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival is committed to ensuring we are as inclusive as possible, that anyone can experience our Arts Festival, Arts Live and Stage iT performances. Our accessibility policy is evolving and we continue to work with our partners and funders to improve information and facilities where we can.

Access tickets:

Our box office partners, Midsteeple and Wigtown Book Festival, are equipped to assist with access bookings. This includes those who require a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance. Complimentary personal assistant tickets are available on all Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival core shows. Other shows within the programme may have limitations as these are presented by our partners. If you have a query about any of these, do get in touch so that we can help facilitate.

Accessible performances:

We are committed to ensuring we can offer enhanced performances on demand. We offer a request system, so audiences can ask for an event to be signed, captioned or audio described and we will do our best to provide this access provision for you to experience our performances. Our visiting artists will sometimes provide accessible performances as part of their tour offers, but we cannot guarantee that every show is fully accessible. For our online programme, we offer captioning and/or BSL in as many events as possible.

To make an access request, please contact us at least two weeks in advance of the performance and we will support where we can.

Accessible venues:

We are committed to gathering information on all venues within out network, this is an ongoing process with some 90 spaces ranging from volunteer run to professional led.

On each event page in our website, you can find out more accessibility information. Just click on an event in our ‘What’s On’ section and you will find more detailed information in the event copy.

If you have any questions or require additional support, please don’t hesitate to contact us: info@dgartsfestival.org.uk
