Dates for our 10 Day Festival Announced

Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival announce the dates for their 10 Day Performing Arts Festival.

Scotland’s largest rural performing arts festival is back in venues across the region for our 43rd annual 10 day Festival taking place from 20th – 29th May.

For 43 years, we have brought world-class theatre, music, dance, comedy and spoken word to the heart of communities across the region. Our 10 day Festival is a celebration of local and national artists and we are delighted to announce the dates for our exciting programme of events that will be launched publicly on Wednesday 16th March.

We are known for supporting people in some of Scotland’s most remote and rural areas to experience world-class performing arts. We bring the best of local and national work to communities, invest in performing arts and introduce young people to live performance with our imaginative programmes and this year is set to showcase our incredible programme with a show for everyone.

Our team are building on our work in 2021 and have created an eclectic and exciting programme of work for our ten-day extravaganza that will offer something for everyone to enjoy in community halls, theatres, outdoors and online.

Our programme of work has increased performing arts opportunities across the region by supporting local artists and venues so that no-one need miss out on experiencing high quality performing arts on their doorstop through our Support for Ambition initiative and newly curated community events that are set to create a platform for local artists on the national stage.

This year, our programme offers a platform for local artists, and brings back award winning national artists to the region through new programming partnerships and varied line-ups.

“We are back – bringing a mix of local and national artists to Dumfries & Galloway this May. Our programme features an exciting line-up of diverse artists and stories, new national partnerships and events for audiences and communities to experience across the region. We have something for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to inspire you.” Melanie Purdie, Strategic & Creative Director

There will be more exciting announcements to come soon as our Festival takes shape and our official programme will be launched at 10am on Wednesday 16th March on their website: www.dgartsfestival.org.uk
