This is a special concert launching a programme of Ken Bridge bicentenary events. CatStrand has commissioned Wendy Stewart to write a Ken Bridge Song Suite using The River Ken, The Crossing, and the life of engineer John Rennie as inspiration. This will be premiered as part of this performance.

The Galloway Agreement is a collaboration featuring five of D&G’s best known traditional musicians; Wendy Stewart (harp, vocals), Ruth Morris (alto and tenor nyckelharpa), Gavin Marwick (fiddle), Stuart Macpherson (double bass) and the latest addition Beth Porter (Cello, Vocals). These world class musicians are all based in Dumfries and Galloway. Their repertoire is a mixture of original compositions and favourite tunes and songs from Scotland and other European traditions. The Galloway Agreement are well known for their sublime sound created by this lovely combination of instruments.
