The Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival has vacancies on its board of trustees.

Our vision is to create the most vibrant and thriving rural cultural scene in Scotland, presenting high quality programmes of performing arts events, participation and development throughout each year across one of our country’s largest geographic regions.

Through the theatre, music, dance, film, comedy and spoken word performances and participation we organise and promote, we inspire and connect audiences and participants throughout Dumfries & Galloway with local and national artists’ work, we stimulate meaningful community participation and engagement, and we celebrate the transformative power of the arts. Through our programmes and activities, we also support, nurture and help develop the creative quality, ambition, innovation and skills of performing arts practitioners who live and work in the region.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and committed people who would like to add their knowledge and expertise to the wealth of experience and perspectives our current group of trustees offer the organisation and its governance.

If our vision and the work we create and deliver interest you and you would like to help us achieve our aims, we would like to hear from you. You do not have to have had previous experience serving on a board of directors. As well as a comprehensive induction, we provide on-going support and mentorship, if required.

Typically, our trustees meet four times per annum – usually combining face to face and online attendance – as well as a one-day board development opportunity once each year. You do not have to live in Dumfries to apply, although some meaningful connection with the region, or with some aspect of Scotland’s cultural sector, would be beneficial.

This is a voluntary role, trustees do not receive any remuneration, but we cover all out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel and childcare.

Location: Dumfries & Galloway.
